Graffiti Implements by Matt Baran
A collective moving through the urban space, under the bridge, across the overpass. Installing formal interventions to augment their spatial overlays, to completely transform the space into a comprehensive alternate place. Artists in conjunction with designers and builders work to assemble the intervention from found parts. The collaborate - the installation speaks to the next layer of effort. They work at night. Floodlights fill the deadzone, giving it the light that will give rise to the next use. A space of art, or meaning. Hidden or overt. No one bothers to notice as they commence, it is not a place they want to be. Until the morning, when everything is bright and new yet strange and foreign. A new place is born. Tomorrow it will be changed again, the movement is constant as the form changes and the surfaces shift.
