Dark Night City by Yongwon Jeong
The project was to design an architecture school in the urban city, Chicago. This project explores the architectural concept of layering. Layers of materials merge and separate, creating distinct spatial zones that accommodate the school’s various programs. The material and spatial layering within the school extend out to the city. The rendering is to show how the school and its users are connected to the network of urban layers that surround it. As the building lights up 24/7, the building is contrasted with the surrounding buildings, and the school will act as a beacon that adds to the neighborhood's creative energy.
